The breast piercing can be worn by both women and men. The breast can be decorated with many different types of piercing jewellery. For example, Piercing Ring, Horseshoe Piercing, Barbell Piercing or special nipple shields are used here.

In our shop you will find a huge selection of beautiful nipple jewellery in unique designs and motives such as animals, stars or flowers. In this guide you will find all the important information about nipple piercing, from the piercing and the right jewellery to the risks.

Types of Nipple Piercings

Nipple piercings can be pierced vertically or horizontally through the nipple. The horizontal nipple piercing is the most popular and widespread variant. Less frequently, a nipple piercing can also be placed diagonally. Whether only one or both nipples are pierced is completely up to the wearer's preference. The placement and choice of side is also a matter of choice.

The nipple piercing variants can also be combined in any way. By piercing two horizontal or vertical piercings on one nipple, a double nipple piercing is created. By combining a vertical and a horizontal piercing on one nipple, the nipple gets a unique look in cross shape.

Piercing Jewellery for the Breast

The nipples can be embellished with many different types of piercing Jewelry. These include rings, horseshoes, nipple shields and both straight and curved barbells. Jewellery variants with pendants offer a special look. A charming look can be created with the help of connecting chains that are attached to the nipple jewellery. Our shop has a large selection of nipple jewellery for every style.

Simple Surgical Steel Piercing and Titanium Barbell Piercing create a simple and discreet look. The plain barbells can also be upgraded with coloured or crystal studded beads. Barbells in fan design and barbells with pendants frame the nipples and give the wearer more self-confidence. The pendants can be shaped in many unique designs such as masks, handcuffs, vines or snakes.

Nipple rings give the nipples a distinct and interesting look. Bendable Hoop Ring Piercing, CBR Piercing, Horseshoe Piercing, Segmentring Piercing and segment Clicker Piercing can be used as nipple rings. Plain rings offer a classic look, while more unusual ring designs can be used to create individual accents.

Nipple shields skillfully frame the nipples and give the breast a unique look. They are available in many different and interesting motives such as turbines, stars, flowers, spikes or suns. There are plain metal nipple shields as well as elaborately decorated nipple shields studded with zirconias.

Jewellery for the nipples can be made of many different materials. The particularly high-quality materials titanium and 14 carat gold offer many advantages. First and foremost, they are allergy friendly and luxurious. Surgical steel jewellery also has many advantages that make the material very popular. The stainless and durable metal is cheaper in comparison and still of high quality.

Fake Nipple Piercing allow you to try out the look at your own leisure before getting a nipple piercing. Nipple Piercing

The piercing of a Nipple Piercing is similar to other piercing types. The area to be pierced is thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and the puncture points marked. After the placement is determined, the piercer will grip the nipple with a pair of clamping forceps. The nipple is then pierced with a hollow and sterile needle and the initial jewellery is inserted. In most cases, this process is completed within a few seconds.

Most piercers use Straight Barbell Piercing as the initial jewellery for quick healing. The bar thickness of the barbell is about 1.6 mm - 2 mm. The length of the barbell is determined individually for each piercer. There should be about 3 mm of the barbell sticking out at both ends of the piercing canal. This longer bar size provides space for the swelling of the nipple.

Basically anyone can get a nipple piercing. The anatomy of the nipples is different for everyone, but almost every nipple is suitable for this type of piercing. A nipple piercing can also be pierced during breast enlargement or reduction. However, there should be plenty of time between the two procedures so that the body can recover and heal properly.

Unfortunately, since the nipple is quite a sensitive part of the body, the pain is more severe for most people. To make the pain of the pricking more bearable, the area can also be anaesthetised before the pricking.

The cost of a nipple piercing depends on various factors such as the region and the studio. In general, the price for a nipple piercing ranges from about 40€ - 70€.

Healing and the right Care

The length of time it takes for a nipple piercing to heal usually depends on your own anatomy. Smaller nipples with a width of less than 10 mm are completely healed after about 3 - 4 months. Nipples that are larger than 10 mm take longer to heal, about 6 - 9 months. Only after complete healing may the initial jewellery be replaced.

In the first week after the nipples have been pierced, the fresh wound can be covered with a plaster, as the nipples can bleed again. The use of sterile compresses can also help here, especially with the secretion of body fluids.

The nipples should be cleaned and disinfected twice a day for 2 weeks after stinging. The hands should be disinfected before any contact with the piercing. When showering, mild and preferably PH-neutral agents should be used to prevent irritating substances from entering the piercing canal. After showering, the soaked crusts can be carefully removed and the fresh piercing can be gently dabbed with a lint-free cloth. Afterwards, cleaning with special piercing care products is recommended.

Especially with a nipple piercing, great care should be taken when putting on and taking off clothing. The outer clothing should be put on and taken off gently and slowly, as too rough a procedure can lead to the nipple jewellery getting caught. In the worst case, the breast piercing can even be torn out of the nipple. Therefore, one should always take plenty of time and proceed carefully when dressing.

Women should wear simple, tight-fitting bras made of a breathable fabric such as cotton during the healing phase. Sports bras are particularly suitable for this purpose. Bras with lace and decorations such as bows or frills should be avoided for the time being. The chest Jewelry can easily get caught and chafe uncomfortably with every movement or be torn out. For men, a tight-fitting top is sufficient to keep the nipple jewellery in place.

You should avoid sports for at least the first 14 days after the stitching to avoid sweating and unnecessary friction during physical exertion. However, even after the first two weeks and during the complete healing process, the nipple piercing can be perceived as annoying during sports. In this case, covering the jewellery with a plaster can prevent the friction and possible clinging to the clothing.

Playing with the nipples should be avoided during the entire healing phase. As long as the canal has not healed completely, the nipple piercing is more susceptible to cracks. Cracks, in turn, favour the spread of germs and consequently inflammations.

Pregnant women should remove their nipple jewellery from the sixth month at the latest, as the breast becomes larger and very sensitive during pregnancy. Earlier removal of jewellery is preferred by many pregnant women because of the increased sensitivity. Nipple jewellery should also not be worn during breastfeeding so that the baby is not exposed to the risk of swallowing. After the breastfeeding period has ended, the jewellery can be reinserted after about 2 - 3 months.

Risks of Nipple Piercing

Nipple piercing, like any other type of piercing, is associated with risks. In this section you will find out what risks are possible and how to reduce them.

Due to the longer healing phase, the risk of infection is increased with a nipple piercing. Therefore, conscientious and regular care is crucial for uncomplicated healing. Symptoms of infection include yellowish or greenish pus, severe redness and swelling of the Intimate Piercing for nipples, and persistent, severe pain. With an infected piercing, the skin around the piercing may also feel hot. If these signs occur with the piercing, the piercer should be consulted immediately.

Swelling of the nipples is normal immediately after piercing and only poses a risk if the initial jewellery chosen is too small. In this case, the body jewellery should be exchanged for a longer one by the piercer immediately.

Piercing the nipples can have consequences for breastfeeding later on. The mammary glands can be blocked by the piercing and the flow of milk can slow down as a result. The mammary glands can also be damaged if the piercing is done incorrectly. This risk can be minimised by a professional piercer with a lot of experience.

Women with nipple piercings may have more sensitive nipples during menstruation. Even piercings that have healed long ago can then swell or cause pain. This phenomenon is unpleasant, but the symptoms usually improve after a few months. The longer you have the piercing, the less painful it is during your period.

A nipple piercing can grow out like any other piercing. The piercing is rejected by the body and more and more of the jewellery becomes visible. The distance between the balls and the piercing hole becomes larger. The piercing hole can enlarge and the piercing site becomes dry, red and sensitive. In this case, the piercer should also be consulted. If necessary, this process can be stopped by changing the jewellery. If this does not help, the body jewellery must be removed so that no scars form.
