Titanium Conch Piercing: Rings and Clickers from Implant-Grade Titanium
With gems and unique designs, a Titanium Conch Piercing really makes a statement.
For your Titanium Conch Piercing, you will find over 300 models in our shop, all made entirely of titanium. Almost all of them are rings with a clicker closure, ranging from smooth hoops and curved dome rings to faceted surfaces, as well as rings with cubic zirconia rows, marquise stones, hearts, or stars. We also offer rings in special shapes and 3D designs that create a striking look on the ear. Colors range from silver, gold, and rose gold to black and rainbow. To see all shapes and materials for this placement, check out our Conch Piercing overview.

Why Choose Titanium for Your Conch?
The conch is the large cartilage bowl in the middle of the ear, and cartilage heals slowly. That is why a highly biocompatible material is worth it here. Our titanium complies with ASTM F136, the standard for implant-grade titanium: it is nickel-free, lightweight, and very skin-friendly. A large ring in the conch is heavier than a small stud, so you will really notice the light weight of titanium. Gold, rose gold, and black models feature a PVD coating over a solid titanium core. If you are looking for titanium for other placements, you can find more rings under Titanium Piercing Ring.
Clickers, Captive Bead Rings, or Bendable Hoops
Almost all titanium rings for the conch piercing are clickers. A hinged segment opens up and clicks securely into place when closed. This can be done without tools and is fairly easy to manage behind the ear, even without a mirror. Some models are captive bead rings, where a bead is held in place by tension between the ends, and a few are bendable seamless rings. If you prefer a stud, for example for an inner conch, take a look at our Conch Piercing Studs.
Sizes: Gauge and Diameter
The most common gauge is 1.2 mm (16G), but we also offer 0.8 mm (20G), 1.0 mm (18G), and 1.6 mm (14G). For the inner diameter, we primarily carry 8 mm and 10 mm, as well as 6 mm, 12 mm, and 14 mm. As a general guide: for the outer conch, which is closer to the outer edge, 8 mm or 10 mm usually fits best. A ring going through the inner conch has to wrap all the way around the edge of the ear and therefore often requires 12 mm or more. It is best to measure the distance from your piercing hole to the edge of your ear and add a little extra room.
Our Practical Advice
For your first titanium conch ring, we recommend a simple clicker in a 1.2 mm (16G) gauge. Measure the distance to the edge of your ear beforehand: 10 mm is usually enough for the outer conch, while you should opt for 12 mm or 14 mm for the inner conch. Gemstones and special shapes look their best when the size fits perfectly.
Frequently Asked Questions About Titanium Conch Piercings
Can I wear a ring right after getting pierced?
Many piercers initially use a stud for a conch piercing because a ring moves around and can delay the healing process. It is best to switch to a titanium ring only after the cartilage has fully healed. For the conch, this usually takes several months.
What diameter fits the inner and outer conch?
For the outer conch, 8 mm or 10 mm often fits well. With the inner conch, the piercing hole is located deeper inside the ear bowl, so 12 mm or 14 mm is usually required. A ring that is too small will press against the edge of your ear and pull the piercing at an angle.
Is titanium for a conch piercing really nickel-free?
Yes, ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium contains no nickel. This also applies to the gold and black models, as the coating is only on the surface. Titanium is therefore the standard recommendation for anyone with a nickel allergy.
How do I open a clicker in my conch?
Hold the ring with two fingers and push the hinged segment open from the side. Guide the open end through the piercing hole, rotate the ring into position, and snap it shut until you hear it click into place.
Can I wear headphones with a conch ring?
In-ear headphones sit directly in the conch and will press against the ring. With a fully healed piercing and a small ring diameter, this is often fine, but you should avoid it during the healing phase. Over-ear headphones are usually the better choice.
HelixRookDaithTragusConchLobeHow your ear piercing heals
Clean twice a day with sterile saline solution and only touch with clean hands.
Do not change the initial jewelry and do not sleep on the pierced side.
An earlobe is usually healed after six to twelve weeks. Cartilage like a helix or tragus takes six to twelve months.
Once everything is calm, you can insert new jewelry – in the same gauge as before.
These times are guidelines; every healing process is different. In case of severe pain, swelling, or pus, please consult your piercing studio or a doctor.
